MORE AIR

It’s actually Air More, but you get the point.

Finally was able to get my hands on a classic pair that was on sale (fortunately). It’s not an OG colorway but it’s beautiful anyway. It’s a classic pair that is well known because Scottie Pippen used to rock these on court. Nowadays, it’s used mainly off court.

Just your typical Nike box, nothing fancy.

I got the White/Gum sole colorway (as you can see).

  • • White leather upper, even on the letterings.
  • • Full length Air Midsole.
  • • Pull tabs in the heel area

    • Thick gum sole/outsole

    • Elastic bands work perfectly (for me) if you go half a size down so that even if you decide to go loose laced, it still fits your feet perfectly.

It’s a solid shoe. Hands down. I mean, I wouldn’t buy a pair that I don’t like. I ain’t like that. I personally won’t use it for hooping, that’s for sure. I know it’s a basketball shoe, but it is NOT COMFORTABLE (for basketball). If you’re using it casually, it’s great. I just don’t think I’d last long on the court with this pair.

    IS IT WORTH BUYING?

If you’re into retro/old school shoes, YES.

For hooping? Solid NO. But that’s my opinion. If you feel like you can use these on the court, by all means, go ahead. It can get pretty hot though.

I got this pair for, PHP 7,500 (USD 141) and it was on sale. The price is usually around PHP 8,500-9,000 (USD 160-170).

If you guys like (or love) collecting cool looking sneakers, OG retros, hyped up kicks, I recommend going to Got Goods (the address is in the link).

That’s it for today, leave your thoughts in the comments section down below!

    HONG KONG OOTDs

    I kept it chill.

Decided to whip up some comfy sets of clothes for each day of our stay in Hong Kong (if you were wondering, yes I made a checklist of what I was supposed to wear per day).

    DAY 1:

    SET 1:

I wanted to go a bit retro with the colors.

(No pic of me wearing this fit coz I forgot to take one, unfortunately)

    DAY 2:

    SET 2:

    • R2-D2 Tee (Folded & Hung)
    • Track Pants (Penshoppe)
    • Star Wars Socks (Iconic Socks)
    • Adidas Superstars

I had to wear a Disney related shirt. Only right coz we were at Disneyland.

    DAY 3:

    SET 3:

    • Calle Ropa Tee
    • Gray Sweatshorts
    • White Socks
    • Adidas Superstars

It was shopping day. It had to be something simple and comfortable.

    DAY 4:

    SET 4:

    • Striped Tee (Aeropostale)
    • Sweatpants
    • Nike Air Presto
    • Retro Reebok Jacket (optional)

I wanted to relax on the trip back to Manila. Sweatpants and a loose shirt was the way to go. The jacket was optional.

Here’s something to remember: Dunks and Superstars are not very good partners when it comes to long walks. Choose something lightweight and has a comfortable cushioning system (I only chose these because I had no problem with them getting dirty).

Love it? Hate it? Comment down below!

    Nike Air Presto

    Finally copped one!

I’ve been dying to get my hands on a pair of these since forever and I was able to do just that during our trip to Hong Kong.

Originally, I was going to get Sockdarts, I just had to change my mind when I saw this pair. Who could pass on a black and white colorway? No one, right? Right?

    Damn that’s sexy.

A black synthetic upper with a matching black cage and a white midsole along with a black swoosh. Plus, this pair is COMFORTABLE AS HELL.

You could use this pair for running, walking, even when going to the gym. You can dress it down or dress it up and you’d still look fine with it.

If you guys were wondering, I got this pair for only 480 HKD (Hong Kong Dollars) or roughly, 3,263PHP, or, 61.16 USD. Head on to Fa Yuen Street or what they call, Sneaker Street in Hong Kong.

    DUNKS

My first pair of Nike Dunks.

Never thought I’d own one coz I never thought of buying one. I didn’t actually buy this, my parents did during their trip to Singapore. Mom messaged and she was like, “Would you wear something like this? (She sent a pic)” and I said, “Yeah” or something like that.

The design is unique and fresh. First pair and it stands out in the crowd.

I did a bit of research on the pair and I believe it is the, Nike Dunk Low “Baseball Pack” MLB Oakland A’s, from 2006.

Not much to be said about this pair, I just wanted to show you what I just got recently.

It’s made mostly of leather, some stitching designs on the side just like a baseball or a catching glove/mit (whatever you call it, I don’t play baseball), baseball bats design on the tongue, and the sole is the same as the Jordan 1 and the Air Force 1.

That’s about it. I just wanted to showcase what I copped. Comment down below if you have any questions or you just wanna say something.

    Nike Flyknit Trainer 2017

    Clean.

    These. Are. Clean.

I wouldn’t go for any other colorway but these.

These are the Flyknit Trainer 2017 “Sunset tint”

I’m currently taking a break from copping basketball shoes and just focusing on casual kicks. I never even thought I’d get a pair of these, they weren’t even on my list. But when I saw it, you know that feeling that you just gotta have it? I got that feeling. Plus, I never had a pair of pink shoes before. Points for that.

It’s light, it’s fresh, extremely great ventilation thanks to Flyknit, you can use it anywhere (Not to formal gatherings. Unless you wear these types of shoes to those events), pair it with jeans and a shirt or hoodie and you’re good to go.

Kyrie 3 “White Chrome” Performance Review

I really don’t know how to start this.

I love this pair. I really do. Not a go to shoe compared to my Dame 3 or my J Wall 2 but it gets the job done. Certainly not the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve hooped in but certainly not the worst *cough* Lebron 13 *cough*.

Let’s get started on the review:

    TRACTION:

Certainly the BEST feature of this pair.

Traction pods are placed on both sides of the forefoot area and the rest of the outsole features a blade pattern.

Minimal wiping is needed. No slipping whatsoever even if the court I played in was dusty.

I don’t do crossovers that much. I play PF-C most of the time but I never experienced any type of slipping while running or those sudden stops.

    Traction: 9/10

    CUSHIONING:

A Zoom unit is placed in the heel area of the shoes for impact protection and phylon for the rest of the midsole for court feel.

The phylon does its job giving you that court feel when you play. The Zoom unit, however, isn’t really felt. It isn’t that responsive. I don’t know if I have to break it in more but based on all the reviews I’ve read about this pair, it’s all the same. I mean, it isn’t that stiff to make your feet hurt because I had a good time hooping in them.

    Cushioning: 7/10

    MATERIALS:

The upper features a reinforced mesh with fuse in the toe box for a bit more durability. The back end of the shoes features a spike-like design which doesn’t really do anything to make the shoe any better.

The materials on this pair are, OKAY. Nothing spectacular or amazing. It’s soft and isn’t stiff to hinder movement while playing.

    Materials: 7/10

    FIT/LOCKDOWN/LACING/SUPPORT:

The forefoot area features a Flywire lacing setup for a better lockdown while using this pair and does it get the job done? It does and it really feels locked down. Don’t tighten it up too much or you might feel a bit uncomfortable.

As for the fit, just go TTS (true-to-size). Before buying shoes (especially online), try them out in stores first to know your exact size. It’s a very narrow pair just so you guys know.

Support is great. The Flywire helps lockdown your feet along with the internal TPU heel counter effectively.

    VENTILATION:

It doesn’t get hot. I never had an issue where my feet got too hot and sweaty while I was playing. The upper doesn’t look like it’s breathable since it has fuse and plastic reinforced mesh, but it actually is.

    Ventilation: 8/10

    OVERALL:

I’ve said before that the Dame 3 was my go-to shoe, but as of now I’ve played more in this pair than the other and I can proudly say that this is my go-to shoes now.

It’s a solid hoop shoe. Traction is great, the cushioning is decent, materials are awesome. If you were to look for a nice pair of point guard shoes, get this. But if you aren’t fond of stiff cushioning setups, don’t get this coz you’re going to have an unpleasant time.

    Overall: 8/10

    Dame 3 “USA” initial thoughts

    What time is it?

    It’s Lillard time.

A low-cost/budget pair of sneakers that performs just as well, if not better, than high end basketball shoes out there on the market. That’s just based on all the reviews I’ve seen and read.

I haven’t had the chance to compare it to the previous models since I ain’t got them. I was supposed to get the Lillard 1 a few years back but decided to pass on em.

No doubt this will be a beast on court. NO DOUBTS AT ALL.

Traction looks hella great. Tried it on and the Bounce cushioning feels great (I haven’t even tried breaking them in yet). Materials feels amazing but too soon for me to say anything, hopefully the ventilation isn’t crappy. Support seems decent, hard to say. But it’s the lacing system that I’m super excited to play around with, I’m not sticking with the factory lacing style forever, I’m gonna change it up eventually.

“The adidas D Lillard 3 debuted in 2016 as the third signature sneaker for Portland Trailblazers all-star point guard Damian Lillard. The sneaker featured a customizable lacing system, a TPU-coated fused mesh upper, a TechFit inner bootie, a Bounce midsole, and an outsole pattern inspired by Lillard’s childhood.”

I’m actually more excited to try this on more than the Kyrie 3. Let’s hope it lives up to it’s hype.

Initial thoughts on the Kyrie 3 “White Chrome”

    No doubts.

I have zero doubts that this shoe will perform well. I have read tons of reviews saying that this pair, among the previous Kyrie’s, is the best one yet.

I won’t be doing a performance review. This just a plain tech breakdown and my initial thoughts on the shoes.

    TECH BREAKDOWN:

    • Cushioning:

    – Heel Zoom Unit

    – Phylon midsole for court feel

    • Materials:

    – Mesh upper
    – Toebox is reinforced with a forefoot band with Flywire and fuse

    • Lacing:

    – Flywire at the forefoot and instead of your regular circular holes for the laces, you get vertical shaped holes.

    • Support/Lockdown:

    – Integrated forefoot band with Flywire cables enhance forefoot motion while maintaining lockdown

    • Traction/Outsole:

    – Traction pods, integrated forefoot band and outsole curvature.

    – Independent traction pods on the forefoot enhance traction for hard cuts.

    – Herringbone/Blade Traction Pattern.

“Details courtesy of Nike News, and Weartesters.com

For me, personally, I think the only problem I’ll get with this pair, is the cushioning setup. Will I enjoy it? I don’t know. Will I hate it? Certainly not, it just means it’s not for me but it doesn’t mean I won’t play in them anymore.

Traction. We all know that won’t be a problem for a pair of shoes designed for the player with the best handles in the league (yes he is better than Curry in my personal opinion).

As for the materials and support, they look decent enough. I’m not expecting anything too special out of them. Let’s just hope the ventilation ain’t too shabby.

That is it for the Kyrie 3, the performance review should be up some time this week once I get to try em on.

    KYRIE 3 X DAME 3

    SHOE REVIEWS ARE BACK.

BATTLE OF THE POINT GUARDS EDITION.

After not being able to post any reviews of shoes due to not being able to get new ones earlier, I’m back with TWO new reviews! Yep, TWO NEW SHOES.

Thanks to Titan Circuit Makati (click there to see all the products they have on sale) and their very accommodating staff, I was able to cop the KYRIE 3 “White Chrome” and the DAME 3 “USA

I have yet to try these bad boys out but as soon as I can, imma update you guys.

    KOBE MENTALITY 2

I know this has been reviewed far too many times already. But, better late than never.

    BEAST.

    TOTAL. BEAST.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHOE IS A BEAST.

    • TRACTION

Herringbone pattern with a somewhat web design and a diamond pattern on the medial side plus a mamba logo at the heel because why not? It’s Kobe’s shoe anyway.

Traction is straight up AMAZING. It actually is just jaw-dropping. No joke. The outsole is really thick and durable.

NO SLIPPING. NO WIPING. NONE WHATSOEVER.

    (RATING: 10/10)

    • CUSHIONING

    FULL. LENGTH. LUNARLON.

The shoes feature a full-length drop-in Lunarlon mid-sole. It provides decent impact protection when coming in from rebounds.

The mid-sole provides decent comfort while playing. It certainly isn’t the best but it gets the job done. Court-feel is another great factor that this mid-sole offers.

It certainly isn’t the best cushioning set up (still better than Adiprene/Adiprene+) but it’s pretty decent. Court-feel and comfort are a bit more than average. If you want a better mid-sole for your shoes, swap it with the one from the Kobe 11 (heel Zoom+Lunarlon/full-length Zoom) or the Lebron 11 (heel Zoom+Lunarlon/full-length Zoom).

    (RATING: 7.5/10)

    • SUPPORT

As for the support, don’t expect too much. It’s just an internal TPU heel counter that’s small but enough to be noticed and provide decent lockdown.

It’s a low top and they’re basically shoes for training. You can’t really expect too much fancy features. Plus the fact that it’s a budget shoe.

If you aren’t a fan of low tops and are skeptical of the safety of low cut shoes, this isn’t the pair for you. For those who are okay with these kinds of shoes, then you should have no problems at all.

I personally don’t like low tops for the simple reason that I’ve had a bad history with those types of shoes. However, I always told myself I’d make an exception for Kobe shoes.

    (RATING: 5-6/10)

    • MATERIALS

The upper is made of Flyweave. Same as the KD 8, except that the 8’s have a softer upper unlike the Mentality’s that feels like it’s been reinforced with plastic (for durability, I guess).

The toebox is reinforced with fuse for it to be stronger and durable espcially for those players who are prone to toe drags while hooping.

    (RATING: 8/10)

    • FIT

Go true-to-size or half a size down (like what I did). I just wanted that snug feeling that’s why I got a 10.5 instead of my usual 11.

    (RATING: 8/10)

    • VENTILATION

    Not bad. Not great.

It’s alright. I still think it’s better than the ventilation of the J Wall 2 Boost (which is the worst for me. Second worst is the Lebron 13 but that’s a different story).

It can feel a bit hot and cramped at times but it ain’t always like that.

    (RATING: 7/10)

    • LOCKDOWN

The lockdown is good. Not great. Good. It certainly isn’t the worst.

Typical cushioned tongue that goes hand-in-hand with the TPU heel counter that provides a decent lockdown on your feet. No this pair doesn’t offer Flywire for better containment since it’s on the budget shoe line of Nike.

    (RATING: 7/10)

    • OVERALL

This is a go-to pair. Solid traction, decent cushioning setup, decent support and lockdown, and all for a decent price. Don’t expect too much, it doesn’t offer anything fancy as I have said a while ago.

If you’re looking for a pair of shoes that you can hoop in indoors and outdoors, go get this pair. It certainly won’t disappoint you.

    (OVERALL RATING: 7.5-8/10)

Questions? Comments? You know where to put them.
