Laid back

“Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy—but mysterious. But above all, black says this: I don’t bother you—don’t bother me.” –  Yohji Yamamoto

How can you honestly go wrong with an all black fit? I love black. I could go for days wearing anything black. That’s what I went for in this outfit.

It’s a laid back vibe but still has that sort of edge to it. Wore a brown fisherman’s hat to match my brown sneakers, the red lining of the track pants popped from the dark colors of my ensemble, and tucked my pants inside the socks for that extra rugged look.

HONG KONG OOTDs

I kept it chill.

Decided to whip up some comfy sets of clothes for each day of our stay in Hong Kong (if you were wondering, yes I made a checklist of what I was supposed to wear per day).

DAY 1:

SET 1:

I wanted to go a bit retro with the colors.

(No pic of me wearing this fit coz I forgot to take one, unfortunately)

DAY 2:

SET 2:

  • R2-D2 Tee (Folded & Hung)
  • Track Pants (Penshoppe)
  • Star Wars Socks (Iconic Socks)
  • Adidas Superstars

I had to wear a Disney related shirt. Only right coz we were at Disneyland.

DAY 3:

SET 3:

  • Calle Ropa Tee
  • Gray Sweatshorts
  • White Socks
  • Adidas Superstars

It was shopping day. It had to be something simple and comfortable.

DAY 4:

SET 4:

  • Striped Tee (Aeropostale)
  • Sweatpants
  • Nike Air Presto
  • Retro Reebok Jacket (optional)

I wanted to relax on the trip back to Manila. Sweatpants and a loose shirt was the way to go. The jacket was optional.

Here’s something to remember: Dunks and Superstars are not very good partners when it comes to long walks. Choose something lightweight and has a comfortable cushioning system (I only chose these because I had no problem with them getting dirty).

Love it? Hate it? Comment down below!

#OOTD PART 3

This isn’t so much of an OOTD. No one was there to take pictures of me.

Except for my sister.

Wrong choice.

Damn it.

My sister isn’t good with taking pictures. She isn’t fond of OOTD’s as well, but I had no other choice. I gave her instructions and… she took pictures of herself on my phone (I’ll put those pics on a separate post).

This was the only decent pic that she took (plus editing).

I decided to do a flat lay instead.

Plain dark blue v-neck, partnered with gray sweatshorts that stop a bit above the knee, white chucks, a white pair of Nike crew socks, a watch, and a bracelet if you want. The socks are optional if you’re not a fan of high socks.

This kind of style or outfit is usually what I wear when I go to school since it’s easy to put together, especially for a guy who’s usually too lazy to dress up in the morning.

You could also trade the top for a white shirt like this,

Comments? You know where to put them!

Socks

Socks + Your game = Does it make a difference?

For me? Yes. It does. How? Let me explain.

When you’re on the court and it’s starting to heat up (literally), your whole body starts to sweat. Including your feet. You don’t want your feet to sweat, it feels uncomfortable. That’s where the socks come in. These aren’t your ordinary socks. These are basketball socks that are made to prevent sweat from interfering with your game.

There are tons of basketball socks out there, but I’ll be talking about the ones I use when playing.

  • Nike HyperElite Socks:

A. Comfort-  3.5 out of 5.

B. Fit- 5 out of 5

C. Ventilation- 2.5/3 out of 5

Overall- It could have been the best if it wasn’t for the ventilation of the socks. To me, that was the problem. I don’t know if you guys have the same problem, but I certainly thought that they could have made some adjustments to make it a bit better.

  • Adidas Team Speed Traxion Crew Socks:

A. Comfort- 4 out of 5

B. Fit- 3.5 out of 5

C. Ventilation- 4.5 out of 5

Overall- The ventilation was better than the HyperElite’s but the fit was not as good. I like socks that are tight around your feet and legs.

  • OBBO Tempo Socks:

A. Comfort- 4.5 out of 5

B. Fit- 3 out of 5

C. Ventilation- 4 out of 5

Overall- Comfort was really good but it did lack a whole lot in the fit department. Ventilation was above average. It’s just the fit man, c’mon.

Total overall: I prefer the Adidas Team Speed Traxion Crew Socks. It’s comfy and snug and provides good ventilation. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t buy the other socks, it still depends on what is more comfortable for you.
