Beach vibes

T’was very hot, not gonna lie.

Went to this beach in Batangas during our staycation at Lima Park Hotel. Sun was great, was able to kayak with the fam, and of course, take photos.

Since we were at the beach, why not go for a tropical outfit, right? And yes, I did wear sneakers coz why not?

I’m not one to wear shirts like this or long sleeved button down shirts, but this was light, breezy, and very easy to wear along with the orange shorts, and a pair of white sneakers to cap off the outfit.

Waddya guys think? What’s your go-to-outfit when you’re at the beach and you kinda wanna dress up nicely? Lemme know down below!

I tried something new

I tried wearing a button down short sleeved top. I don’t do this. It’s not my thing. But for the sake of trying something different, what the heck.

It felt nice and fresh to try something I wasn’t used to. In my opinion, the outfit looked great.

I was actually inpired by one of Mikyle Quizon‘s OOTDs and decided to just try it out (and do a rip-off version of it hahaha) and see how it goes.

Have you tried something new and different? Whether it be a small feat like with what I did here, or a big one, try stepping out of your comfort zone.

Make it POP

“Fanny on me” – Perea Street (2018)

I was finally able to cop a pair of these trousers! I’ve been wanting to get these but most of the time they didn’t have my size or they just simply didn’t have the pants.

I decided to pair it with a plain white shirt and my Adidas Superstar for that classic vibe; and since it was a bit plain, I decided to add my new yellow fanny pack (from OXGN) to make it, like what the title says, POP.

Even without the bag, the fit still looks classy and has this old school feel to it, but the fanny pack adds this extra character to it to make it a little bit less dull.

What do you guys think? Lemme know down there!

2018 SNEAKER PICKUPS

BLESSED.

This year, the Shoe God has been great to me. I want to share with you guys every single pair that I copped this year.

  • 1.) First up, the Maz Brasil in the Red and White colorway.
  • 2.) NEW BALANCE 373 in the Red/White colorway
  • 3.) Nike Flyknit Trainer 2017 ‘Sunset Tint’ colorway

  • 4.) Vans Old Skool “NUDE”

5.) BATA X STAR WARS limited edition collab (stormtrooper tennis shoes variant)

6.) Nike DUNKS low X MLB Oakland A’s ‘Baseball Pack’

7.) Nike Air Presto in the Black/White colorway

8.) Adidas ZX Flux X Italia Independent ‘Core Navy’

9.) Chuck Taylor All-Stars in the Blue/White colorway

10.) Nike Air More Uptempo in the White/Gumsole colorway

11.) Adidas Pureboost 2017 in the White colorway

12.) Air Max 98 SE Team Red colorway

13.) Jordan Legacy 312 ‘Rookie of the Year’ colorway

If you’re wondering, yes, I have used all these. I have worn each and every one of them for a substantial amount of time. I know I have a lot of pairs, and I tend to use the new ones a lot more coz why not, but I still love using my older and more broken in pairs.

Out of all of these, I’d have to say the Air Max would have to be my most favourite cop, so far. I’ve always wanted a pair of those and now I got one.

I might lie low from the sneaker scene this coming year, I don’t know yet. I also said that last year and look at where that got me. I never thought I’d have this much shoes in my life. Too much sauce this year (which depends on whether you like my taste in shoes or not. I really don’t care tbh).

Lastly, one more thing I really got to learn this year is that, never ever go with the hype unless you truly want it. Never let anyone try to even persuade you not to get that one sneaker you want just because it isn’t their style. Cop it. Buy it. Trade for it. As my good friend once said, DO YOU.

And with that, what were your 2018 sneaker cops? Lemme know down below! Top 5 sneaker rotation for last year in the next post! See ya!

    BOOST

    Boost for days.

I’ve tried different cushioning setups. I’ve had some good ones. I’ve had some bad ones. But none of them as comfortable as Boost. Don’t get me wrong, some of you might prefer the Bounce cushioning (also by Adidas), some of you might prefer Zoom, Air (by Nike), or plainly a different setup.

I have tried Boost on my D-Rose 5 (semi full length/ can’t fully feel it that much), and my John Wall 2s (heel part only), but nothing compared to when I tried using the Pure Boost 2017 with it’s full length Boost setup.

I copped the white colorway coz it’s so clean and hella sick.

    Nothing fancy. Plain and simple.

You can see the arch support on the inner side of the pair.

The upper is made of circular knit. It’s a bit stiffer than Primeknit or Flyknit but, it’s still soft compared to most materials out there on other pairs.

On the inside, there’s an internal heel padding for added comfort. There’s also those things on the outside which are for external heel ventilation (which I think acts like a TPU heel counter as well).

As you can see, there is no insole. That’s just a thin layer of fabric inside so that you could feel the cushioning better.

The Lacing was inspired by the Yeezy 350 and 750.

    IS IT WORTH IT?

    100% YES.

Hands down the most comfortable pair I’ve ever had.

    PRICE:

    PHP 6,500/ USD 122

(I got this at a discounted price of PHP 3,900/ USD 73)

Even if it wasn’t on sale, the regular price isn’t as bad as it sounds when it comes to sneakers these days.

Thoughts on the Pure Boost 2017? Leave ’em down below!

    Slept on

Don’t you just hate it when there’s this certain model of sneakers that you just absolutely love and yet everyone’s just sleeping and passing on them? Those to me are the, ZX Flux, from Adidas.

The design is very simple, nothing too extravagant or flashy. Just a pair of plain rubber shoes that are hella comfy. Just a plain heel support at the back, the Adidas logo on the tongue, and the iconic three stripes on the sides.

I love this pair. This is actually my second pair because I had already retired the first one. I really want this pair hyped up coz for me its a great addition to your daily sneaker rotation. There are tons of other designs out there for this model if you don’t fancy this one.

What are your fave kicks that are slept on? Lemme know below! Also! On my next post, you guys will find out what pair of shoes is my fave of all time.

    HONG KONG OOTDs

    I kept it chill.

Decided to whip up some comfy sets of clothes for each day of our stay in Hong Kong (if you were wondering, yes I made a checklist of what I was supposed to wear per day).

    DAY 1:

    SET 1:

I wanted to go a bit retro with the colors.

(No pic of me wearing this fit coz I forgot to take one, unfortunately)

    DAY 2:

    SET 2:

    • R2-D2 Tee (Folded & Hung)
    • Track Pants (Penshoppe)
    • Star Wars Socks (Iconic Socks)
    • Adidas Superstars

I had to wear a Disney related shirt. Only right coz we were at Disneyland.

    DAY 3:

    SET 3:

    • Calle Ropa Tee
    • Gray Sweatshorts
    • White Socks
    • Adidas Superstars

It was shopping day. It had to be something simple and comfortable.

    DAY 4:

    SET 4:

    • Striped Tee (Aeropostale)
    • Sweatpants
    • Nike Air Presto
    • Retro Reebok Jacket (optional)

I wanted to relax on the trip back to Manila. Sweatpants and a loose shirt was the way to go. The jacket was optional.

Here’s something to remember: Dunks and Superstars are not very good partners when it comes to long walks. Choose something lightweight and has a comfortable cushioning system (I only chose these because I had no problem with them getting dirty).

    Dame 3 “USA” Performance Review

    Very impressive.

For a low cost performance shoe, this pair totally dominates any other budget kicks out there and could even compete with big budget shoes.

I don’t even know how Adidas can make a pair this awesome and keep it at that price. The traction, cushioning, materials, etc. are so great that it actually makes you think that it’s worth more than that and even if they upped the price, you’d still be willing to buy it.

Imma start this off with the:

    TRACTION:

It features a multi-directional traction pattern. Whether you’re going left or right, sudden stops, driving to the basket, whatever direction you go, this will grip the floor well. I had no slipping whatsoever, minimal wiping was needed (that or our court was surprisingly clean). Outsole is thick enough to be used outdoors but don’t expect it to last extremely long.

    Traction: 8.5/10

    CUSHIONING:

    Bounce all day.

I have boost and boost is GREAT. But bounce is on a whole different level.

This pair features a dual density type of bounce. The midsole carrier cage and the main midsole.

It provides comfort, responsiveness, great court feel, and impact protection was above par and it was really stable. It didn’t take long to break in the cushioning, two games and it was already awesome.

    Cushioning: 8.5/10

    LACING/FIT/SUPPORT:

The DAME 3 features a one piece booty for its body. No more irritating tongue that you have to keep on adjusting every now and then. This will stay in place no matter what.

For the fit, go TTS (true to size). I went TTS and I had no problem with it. At first my heel was sliding in and out of the shoes but not sliding out entirely. I just had to adjust the lacing to fit my feet better.

This pair features a fully customizable lacing setup. There are so many ways of fixing the lacing of your shoes for a better fit or lockdown.

Support will only be good/great if you have the proper fit, and this is phenomenal. The lacing setup, whether it’s the default style or your own, it will provide a great lockdown and the midsole carrier actually helps in securing your feet while you’re playing, plus the internal TPU heel counter. It may not look like much but the support on this pair is beastly.

The sides of the shoes where you put your laces in wraps around your feet like a burrito.

    Lacing/Fit/Support: 9/10

    MATERIALS:

It’s nothing spectacular but don’t get me wrong, this is way better than what the other pairs have out there.

This features a mesh upper that’s reinforced with plastic and fuse for durability. Your movement wouldn’t be hindered as well because it is super flexible as well.

Ventilation isn’t bad at all. My feet weren’t getting sweaty nor did it feel hot.

    MATERIALS: 8/10

    OVERALL:

The Dame 3 is now one of my go-to pair of kicks. It’s reliable and is actually comfortable and it doesn’t hurt your feet even after how many games. If you’re having second thoughts on whether to cop this pair or not, just cop it. You won’t regret it at all. Not one bit.

    OVERALL SCORE: 9/10

Adidas already released the DAME 4 and I have yet to try it out and review it. Hopefully I get the chance sometime soon.

    Dame 3 “USA” initial thoughts

    What time is it?

    It’s Lillard time.

A low-cost/budget pair of sneakers that performs just as well, if not better, than high end basketball shoes out there on the market. That’s just based on all the reviews I’ve seen and read.

I haven’t had the chance to compare it to the previous models since I ain’t got them. I was supposed to get the Lillard 1 a few years back but decided to pass on em.

No doubt this will be a beast on court. NO DOUBTS AT ALL.

Traction looks hella great. Tried it on and the Bounce cushioning feels great (I haven’t even tried breaking them in yet). Materials feels amazing but too soon for me to say anything, hopefully the ventilation isn’t crappy. Support seems decent, hard to say. But it’s the lacing system that I’m super excited to play around with, I’m not sticking with the factory lacing style forever, I’m gonna change it up eventually.

“The adidas D Lillard 3 debuted in 2016 as the third signature sneaker for Portland Trailblazers all-star point guard Damian Lillard. The sneaker featured a customizable lacing system, a TPU-coated fused mesh upper, a TechFit inner bootie, a Bounce midsole, and an outsole pattern inspired by Lillard’s childhood.”

I’m actually more excited to try this on more than the Kyrie 3. Let’s hope it lives up to it’s hype.
