Dame 3 “USA” Performance Review

Very impressive.

For a low cost performance shoe, this pair totally dominates any other budget kicks out there and could even compete with big budget shoes.

I don’t even know how Adidas can make a pair this awesome and keep it at that price. The traction, cushioning, materials, etc. are so great that it actually makes you think that it’s worth more than that and even if they upped the price, you’d still be willing to buy it.

Imma start this off with the:

TRACTION:

It features a multi-directional traction pattern. Whether you’re going left or right, sudden stops, driving to the basket, whatever direction you go, this will grip the floor well. I had no slipping whatsoever, minimal wiping was needed (that or our court was surprisingly clean). Outsole is thick enough to be used outdoors but don’t expect it to last extremely long.

Traction: 8.5/10

CUSHIONING:

Bounce all day.

I have boost and boost is GREAT. But bounce is on a whole different level.

This pair features a dual density type of bounce. The midsole carrier cage and the main midsole.

It provides comfort, responsiveness, great court feel, and impact protection was above par and it was really stable. It didn’t take long to break in the cushioning, two games and it was already awesome.

Cushioning: 8.5/10

LACING/FIT/SUPPORT:

The DAME 3 features a one piece booty for its body. No more irritating tongue that you have to keep on adjusting every now and then. This will stay in place no matter what.

For the fit, go TTS (true to size). I went TTS and I had no problem with it. At first my heel was sliding in and out of the shoes but not sliding out entirely. I just had to adjust the lacing to fit my feet better.

This pair features a fully customizable lacing setup. There are so many ways of fixing the lacing of your shoes for a better fit or lockdown.

Support will only be good/great if you have the proper fit, and this is phenomenal. The lacing setup, whether it’s the default style or your own, it will provide a great lockdown and the midsole carrier actually helps in securing your feet while you’re playing, plus the internal TPU heel counter. It may not look like much but the support on this pair is beastly.

The sides of the shoes where you put your laces in wraps around your feet like a burrito.

Lacing/Fit/Support: 9/10

MATERIALS:

It’s nothing spectacular but don’t get me wrong, this is way better than what the other pairs have out there.

This features a mesh upper that’s reinforced with plastic and fuse for durability. Your movement wouldn’t be hindered as well because it is super flexible as well.

Ventilation isn’t bad at all. My feet weren’t getting sweaty nor did it feel hot.

MATERIALS: 8/10

OVERALL:

The Dame 3 is now one of my go-to pair of kicks. It’s reliable and is actually comfortable and it doesn’t hurt your feet even after how many games. If you’re having second thoughts on whether to cop this pair or not, just cop it. You won’t regret it at all. Not one bit.

OVERALL SCORE: 9/10

Adidas already released the DAME 4 and I have yet to try it out and review it. Hopefully I get the chance sometime soon.

Dame 3 “USA” initial thoughts

What time is it?

It’s Lillard time.

A low-cost/budget pair of sneakers that performs just as well, if not better, than high end basketball shoes out there on the market. That’s just based on all the reviews I’ve seen and read.

I haven’t had the chance to compare it to the previous models since I ain’t got them. I was supposed to get the Lillard 1 a few years back but decided to pass on em.

No doubt this will be a beast on court. NO DOUBTS AT ALL.

Traction looks hella great. Tried it on and the Bounce cushioning feels great (I haven’t even tried breaking them in yet). Materials feels amazing but too soon for me to say anything, hopefully the ventilation isn’t crappy. Support seems decent, hard to say. But it’s the lacing system that I’m super excited to play around with, I’m not sticking with the factory lacing style forever, I’m gonna change it up eventually.

“The adidas D Lillard 3 debuted in 2016 as the third signature sneaker for Portland Trailblazers all-star point guard Damian Lillard. The sneaker featured a customizable lacing system, a TPU-coated fused mesh upper, a TechFit inner bootie, a Bounce midsole, and an outsole pattern inspired by Lillard’s childhood.”

I’m actually more excited to try this on more than the Kyrie 3. Let’s hope it lives up to it’s hype.
